Athens, named after the goddess Athena — the city’s divine protector born from the head of Zeus — entwines myth and history at every corner. As the capital of Greece, it serves as the epicentre of the nation’s economic, political, and cultural life. Birthplace of renowned philosophers and artists of Antiquity, Athens played a pivotal role in the evolution of democracy.

With a history spanning over 3,000 years, the city has left an indelible mark on the course of Western civilisation. A truly cosmopolitan destination, Athens is a mosaic of cultures that have shaped its identity through the ages. This rich tapestry of heritage and monuments makes the city a magnetic destination for discerning travellers from across the globe.

Half-Day City Tour

At the appointed hour, your guided exploration of Athens will commence, offering an insightful journey through its illustrious past.

We begin with a brief stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, the only stadium in the world built entirely of white marble and the site of the first Olympic Games of the modern era in 1896. The tour continues with a panoramic drive past the Hellenic Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, followed by the elegant Panepistimiou Avenue, where you will admire architectural landmarks such as the Schliemann Mansion, the University of Athens, the National Library, and the Academy.

Passing by the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian, we ascend to the sacred hill of the Acropolis, the eternal symbol of classical Greece. Here you will marvel at its iconic monuments: the imposing Propylaea, the majestic Parthenon, the Erechtheion with its celebrated Porch of the Caryatids, and the recently restored Temple of Athena Nike — each an enduring testament to the grandeur of antiquity.

After the visit, return to the hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
